There will NOT be individual signups for the makeup session.  Just come to the session for the division your child is registered for.

2021 Pleasanton Little League - Spring Season Evaluations for AA, AAA, and Majors

On Saturday Feb. 20th and Sunday Feb. 21st, PLL will be holding evaluations for our AA, AAA, and Majors divisions.  Attendance for these evaluations are mandatory for participation in these divisions.  Your son\daughter will only need to attend one evaluation session for the division in which they are registered for. 

The health and safety of all of our players, coaches, volunteers, and families continues to be an area of focus for evaluations and the upcoming season, and we will be conducting evaluations while following the California Department of Public Health guidelines on youth sports.

Evaluations Implementation Plan:  Safety Measures for Small Cohort Youth Sports - Social Distance Tryout

• Groups of 14 players scheduled every 30 minutes to minimize people on field at any one time.  This will be achieved by leveraging Sign Up Genius to schedule your evaluation.
• All players and PLL volunteers conducting tryouts must wear mask or gaiter over mouth and nose at all times.
• All players will be provided hand sanitizer at check in and reminded not to touch eyes, nose or mouth while participating in the evaluation process.
• No sharing of equipment between players will be allowed during tryouts.
• Players will leave immediately after completing hitting station. PLL Board/Parent Volunteers to shag balls. Hand Sanitizer to be provided to players at exit.
• League provided bat for players who do not have their own bat will be sanitized after each use.
• Parents are allowed to watch their child during tryouts from the stands, but must wear a mask and remain socially distanced from the other players.

Equipment Required (Player provided)

• Baseball glove
• Baseball cap
• Cup and athletic supporter (for boys)
  
• Batting helmet
• Shoes appropriate for artificial turf of Patelco Stadium Field
  

Players will be assessed on the following:

• Ground Ball fielding at shortstop position and thrown to first base (4 reps)
• Fly Ball caught from pitching machine and thrown to cutoff/relay player (4 reps)
• Cutoff / Relay throw to home plate (4 reps)
• Hitting off of pitching machine (5 swings)
• On fifth swing player will run from home to second (timed)
